When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. You will focus on developing + diversifying business in line with financial + volume targets. You will do this by working with a variety of internal + external stakeholders while focusing on the following key objectives:

How you create impact

  • To own, monitor + drive all sales activities for (i.e. prepare quotation) customers within your control, ensuring prospects are identified, qualified + nurtured through the sales pipeline so as to close profitable + sustainable customer deals.
  • To align your sales efforts with Customer Care Location (CCL) Managers, Pricing + Sea Logistics Business Development teams, including pricing decisions.
  • To monitor competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing + products.
  • To report customer feedback to the CCL team, supporting resolutions as required.
  • To align with CCL colleagues when onboarding new customers.
  • To maintain + update the most relevant customer information in internal systems.
  • To regularly review customer portfolios with the CCL Managers + team.
  • To focus on customer engagement, satisfaction, retention + reactivation through high levels of service quality in close collaboration with the CCL.

What we would like you to bring

  • Proven experience in sea freight sales (FCL/LCL, imports/exports), with a strong track record of achieving targets.

  • Solid understanding of logistics processes and documentation, including Incoterms, customs regulations, and carrier requirements.

  • Strong customer acquisition and relationship‑building skills, with the ability to develop long‑term partnerships.

  • Excellent communication and negotiation abilities, capable of presenting solutions and closing deals effectively.

  • Proficiency in CRM systems and logistics platforms, with strong analytical skills to track performance and identify opportunities.

  • Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with operations and customer care teams to ensure seamless service delivery.

  • Commercial awareness and market knowledge, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and adapt to industry trends.
