Location: Woodlands
Contract period: From 15 July 2026 to 14 July 2027 (Option to Extend for a further period of 12 months)
Working Arrangement:
- Mondays to Fridays: 12:00am to 6:00pm.
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays and gazetted public holidays
Job Scope:
Work closely with the school's Student Management Team, Year Heads, Counsellors, and relevant school personnel to support students through positive mentoring, relationship-building, and engagement strategies.
The role aims to strengthen students school connectedness, resilience, behaviour, and social-emotional development in line with the objectives of MOE's UPLIFT initiatives.
UPLIFT Programme Facilitation & Mentoring
- Support the implementation of the school's UPLIFT Programme and related student engagement sessions
- Build positive mentoring relationships with identified students through regular interaction and engagement
- Facilitate and support structured activities, discussions, and reflection sessions planned by the school
- Guide students towards positive behaviour, resilience, and improved school engagement through mentoring and encouragement
- Support students in developing appropriate social-emotional skills, self-management, and positive decision-making
Student Engagement & Support
- Conduct small-group or pull-out engagement sessions for students identified by the school for additional support
- Engage students through structured conversations and activities aligned with the school's intervention framework
- Monitor students participation and engagement during sessions and provide feedback to the school personnel in charge
- Support efforts to strengthen students sense of belonging and connectedness to school
Collaboration with School Personnel
- Work closely with Student Management personnel, Year Heads, School Counsellors, and teachers to support identified students.
- Participate in relevant briefing and review sessions related to the students under the UPLIFT Programme.
- Maintain professional communication and appropriate documentation related to programme attendance and student engagement where required by the school.
Requirements
- Diploma in Counselling, Psychology, Social Work, Youth Work, Community Services, or related fields.
- ONE year of previous experience working with youths, adolescents, or students-at-risk.
- Experience working in schools, youth agencies, social service organisations, or mentoring programmes will be an advantage.
The Personnel should possess the following personal attributes:
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to engage effectively with adolescents.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure and handle challenging situations.
- Comfortable with using technology including body cameras and documentation systems.
- Ability to build rapport with students whilst maintaining authority.
- Strong sense of responsibility and integrity.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school staff and parents.
- Commitment to student welfare and positive behavioural change.
- Proactive approach to preventing misconduct through positive engagement.
