Working Hour
Personnel to be deployed at the following hours:
Qualification
Youth Workers must be registered social workers or registered social work practitioners with the Singapore Association of Social Workers (SASW).
Experience
Minimum 2 years of experience required, preferably in school social work with prior practice in a school setting.
Relevant social work experience with children and youth in community settings will also be considered.
Key Roles
Connect with identified students regularly over a prolonged period (approx. 6 months) to build positive relationships and support their holistic development.
Provide academic and/or socio-emotional support during curriculum hours for students unable to return to class or catch up due to absences.
Conduct house visits and transport identified students to school if they are absent for more than 3 days without valid reasons.
Plan and conduct intervention programmes tailored to students needs and aligned with the school's character development efforts, after school on Tuesdays, including but not limited to:
i. Academic support programme
ii. Mentoring programme
iii. Engagement programme
Observe, identify, and document key student needs, and report cases to Year Heads / Assistant Year Heads and School Leaders for further intervention and support.
Provide feedback on student needs, programme experiences, and concerns to help the school improve student support.
Conduct a review of the engagement programme at the end of each term and recommend improvements for future implementation.
Conduct themselves professionally in all interactions with students and school personnel, and work collaboratively with Year Heads / Assistant Year Heads to support students.
