Job Description

Job Scope

We are seeking a dedicated Youth Engagement Officer to join our school's Uplift programme, which focuses on supporting students to reach their full potential through targeted engagement and skill development initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student Support and Mentoring - Provide individualised support through one-on-one sessions and small group work with students who may benefit from additional guidance. This includes working with students facing academic challenges, attendance concerns, or personal circumstances that impact their school experience. You will collaborate with our Case Management Team to deliver timely and effective interventions for students with behavioural support needs.
  • Programme Implementation - Support the delivery and coordination of various Uplift programme components, including academic support sessions, life skills development workshops, career guidance activities, and enrichment programmes designed to enhance students personal growth and social engagement.
  • Stakeholder Liaison - Serve as an important link between students, teaching staff, and families, advocating for student needs and facilitating effective communication across the school community to ensure comprehensive support.
  • Progress Monitoring - Maintain accurate records of student progress and intervention outcomes, working collaboratively with teaching staff to identify students who would benefit from programme participation and support.
  • Any other work deems suitable by the school.

Requirements

  • Undergraduate
  • Experience working with students or youths, preferably in mentoring, student support, or programme coordination
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with students, parents, and school staff
  • Ability to plan and coordinate workshops, academic support sessions, and enrichment activities
  • Patient, empathetic, and adaptable to meet diverse student needs
  • Good organisational and record-keeping skills for monitoring student progress


Contract Duration: 20 Apr 2026 to 30 Sept 2026 (Option to extend: 1 Oct onwards (to confirm in Term 4))

  • Term 2: 20 April to 27 May | Non-working dates: 30 May to 28 June (term holidays)
  • Term 3: 29 June to 4 Sep | Non-working dates: 6 July (Youth Day), 7 Aug (National Day Sch Celebration), 4 Sep (Teachers Day Sch Holiday), 5 Sep to 13 Sep (term holidays)
  • Term 4: 14 Sep to 30 Sep


Working arrangement:

  • Monday, Tuesday and Thursday: 8.30 am to 2 pm
  • Wednesday and Fri: 11.30 am to 5 pm

(inclusive of 30 min lunch break)

Service not required on Saturday, Sunday, gazetted public holidays and the non-working dates. Off in-lieu will be given if OT is required.
