Job Description

Working Hours & Period

  • Mondays to Fridays: 7:30 AM to 1:30 PM (includes a 30-minute lunch break).
  • Service Period: Active during school terms only (January to May, and July to November). Service is generally not required during June and December school holidays unless explicitly instructed.
  • No work required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted Public Holidays.

Key Responsibilities

  • Laboratory Preparation & Maintenance: Prepare, set up, and clear away apparatus, equipment, and materials required for Primary Science and Mathematics practical lessons. Maintain the absolute cleanliness, organization, and readiness of science laboratories, the preparation room, and storage areas.
  • Lesson Support: Assist teachers during practical classes by handling materials, replenishing consumables, and ensuring the safe conduct of classroom activities.
  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all lab equipment, chemicals, and materials are safely stored, labeled, and handled in strict accordance with school safety procedures and policies. Inspect tools for wear and tear, and arrange for necessary repairs.
  • Inventory Management: Conduct regular stock checks and annual inventory verifications for science resources. Monitor stock levels, source vendor quotations, and assist in purchasing laboratory supplies.
  • General Administrative Duties: Assist teachers with routine administrative tasks such as resource preparation, data entry, student temperature taking (when required), and managing the school's food waste recycling logistics.
  • Event Logistics: Provide administrative and logistical support for school-wide science programmes, exhibitions, and special events.

Job Requirements

  • Education: Minimum GCE O Levels with at least 3 O Level passes.
  • Experience: Minimum of two (2) years of relevant experience performing similar lab technician or administrative duties within a Singapore primary school environment.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, specifically Microsoft Word and Microsoft Excel, for resource creation and database maintenance.
  • Knowledge: Possess a foundational understanding of Singapore Primary Science and Primary Mathematics concepts.
  • Attributes: Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive attitude toward maintaining a safe workspace.
