Job Summary
You will provide frontline reception and administrative support in a school environment, assisting students, parents, staff, and visitors while maintaining accurate records and supporting goods handling tasks.
Responsibilities
- Greet and assist walk-in parents, students, staff, and visitors courteously and professionally to deliver excellent frontline reception service
- Respond promptly to general telephone enquiries to maintain smooth communication within the school
- Provide basic care and first aid to unwell or injured students and escalate cases to appropriate school personnel following school procedures
- Manage situations involving students vomit or soiled clothes by providing immediate support and maintaining hygiene standards
- Assist the Goods/Services Receipt Officer (GRO) with handling goods, collecting forms (e.g., class photos), and issuing items as requested by the school
- Perform data entry and maintain accurate records to support school administrative functions
- Carry out photocopying and document handling duties to ensure efficient office operations
- Administer and maintain proper records of lost-and-found items to support school property management
- Use Microsoft Office applications (Excel, Word), telephone systems, and email to complete office tasks and maintain communication
- Work effectively within a team to support school operations and maintain a positive work environment
Preferred competencies and qualifications
- Possess a valid and current First Aid certification (Standard or Child First Aid) to provide safe and effective basic care
- Have prior experience in receptionist, front-line, or customer service roles to manage interactions professionally
- Be comfortable working in a school environment with children aged 7-12 years to support student needs appropriately
- Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and commitment to assigned duties to ensure consistent support
- Hold a minimum qualification of GCE O Level or equivalent to meet educational expectations
- Have at least three (3) years of experience working in a primary school environment to understand school operations
- Be proficient in spoken English to communicate clearly with school community members
- Demonstrate the ability to manage challenging or anxious situations calmly and effectively
- Possess a pleasant personality to foster positive interactions with students, parents, and staff
- Be proficient in office and IT systems, including Microsoft Office applications, telephone handling, email communication, and basic record-keeping to support administrative tasks
Working Hours
- Mondays to Fridays: 7:00 AM to 2:30 PM, inclusive of 0.5-hour lunch break
- Service not required on Saturdays, Sundays, and gazetted public holidays
- Working hours may be adjusted as necessary to meet the operational needs of the school
