School of Applied Science - Research Assistant (Formulation)

[What the role is]

[What you will be working on]

. Work with the project leader and co-project leaders to achieve the aim of the research project.
. Carry out research work in formulation-based research project
. Carry out hands on formulation and analysis of sample using analytical instruments and formulation equipment
. Carry out research work on microbiology and relevant areas.
. Collate, analyse and interpret data
. Coordinate with external collaborator on project's development
. Assist in procurement including liaising with vendors, sourcing for materials, equipment and testing, and raising purchase requests
. Document and track project issues, expenses and budget tracking, action logs and equipment maintenance.
. Assist in preparing progress reports
. Perform any other duties assigned by the project leader

[What we are looking for]

• Relevant qualifications in Applied Science preferably with experience in working on laboratory based projects
• Good documentation skills, laboratory techniques, and research and data analysis skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build strong working relationships with people at all levels.
• Possess good multi-tasking skills, with a strong sense of responsibility for completing assigned duties on time.
• Willingness to learn new experimental techniques
• Proficient in IT skills
• The successful candidate will be employed on 1 year contract
