Contract Duration: 9 months
Monday & Tuesday: 7.30am - 4.00pm
Wednesday to Friday: 7.30am - 2.30pm
Working hours are inclusive of a 45-minute lunch break
The School Laboratory Technician reports to the Level Head (Science) and supports the day-to-day operations of the school's science laboratories. Key responsibilities include:
Prepare and set up materials, equipment, and apparatus for science experiments conducted by teachers
Assist teachers during practical lessons, particularly when hazardous materials, specialised equipment, or microscopes are involved
Clean, clear, and reset laboratory spaces after experiments to ensure readiness for subsequent classes
Prepare and procure materials and equipment for Science Performance Tasks, enrichment programmes, and workshops
Maintain the cleanliness and general upkeep of science laboratories
Monitor and promote the safe use of laboratory equipment by students and staff
Conduct stock-taking and maintain accurate inventory records of laboratory equipment and materials
Procure and source perishable and non-perishable items, track breakages, and ensure adequate stock levels
Provide administrative support to the Level Head (Science), including filing, typing, scanning, and preparation of teaching resources
Carry out other duties as assigned to support the smooth operation of the school
Minimum qualification of GCE N-Level or equivalent candidates with relevant experience and expertise are welcome to apply
At least 2 years of experience working as a Laboratory Technician
Good communication, interpersonal, and customer service skills
Strong teamwork skills with a proactive and positive attitude
Willingness to learn and adapt in a school environment
Basic computing skills in Microsoft Word and Excel
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks
