Job Description - SCADA Engineer (Offshore Wind / Substation / EPC)


Position Overview

The SCADA Engineer is responsible for the engineering, design coordination,

integration, and commissioning of SCADA and control systems for offshore wind and

associated infrastructure. The role supports project delivery from detailed engineering

through construction and commissioning, working closely with vendors,

subcontractors, and site teams to ensure system compliance and functionality.

Key Responsibilities

SCADA Engineering & Design

. Prepare control system schematic diagrams and detailed I/O lists for SCADA

systems.

. Develop control narratives defining system logic, operational philosophy, and

interlocks.

. Prepare instrument cable schedules, cable routing plans, and cable ladder

sizing in accordance with project and engineering standards.

. Ensure all SCADA and control designs comply with project specifications and

applicable standards.


Vendor & Subcontractor Coordination

. Act as the technical interface with SCADA vendors during system design and

engineering phases.

. Review vendor and subcontractor technical submittals, drawings, and

documentation for compliance with project requirements.

. Review and verify material datasheets submitted by subcontractors against

approved specifications.

. Review subcontractors shop drawings and provide technical comments and

approvals.


System Integration & Commissioning

. Perform SCADA system setup, configuration, and commissioning activities at

site.

. Execute system integration activities, interfacing SCADA with supporting

systems such as instrumentation, PLCs, communication networks, and third-

party systems.. Support testing activities including FAT, SAT, and site commissioning as required.

Construction & Site Support

. Provide technical support to the construction team for technical clarifications

and issue resolution.

. Assist with resolving design- and installation-related issues during construction

and commissioning phases.

. Support coordination between engineering, construction, and commissioning

teams to ensure smooth system handover.

Required Qualifications & Experience

. Degree or diploma in Electrical Engineering, Control & Instrumentation,

Automation, or related discipline.

. 6+ years of experience in SCADA / control system engineering within power,

renewables, offshore wind, substations, or EPC projects.

. Hands-on experience in:

o SCADA system design and documentation

o Control narratives and I/O development

o Cable schedules, routing, and tray/ladder sizing

. Experience working with vendors and subcontractors in an EPC environment.

Technical Skills & Knowledge

. SCADA and control system architecture and design.

. Instrumentation and control cabling.

. System integration and commissioning methodologies.

. Ability to review and interpret technical drawings, datasheets, and

specifications.
