SAVP Group Director of Design & Projects (Asia)

Ensure the successful design, development, and project management of hotels across the globe with a focus on delivering projects that exceed our high standards of guest experience, quality, and environmental sensitivity.

Strategic Leadership: Provide strategic leadership for the department in line with the company's overall objectives, and particularly in enhancing the organisation's leading position in design, experience and stewardship in the industry of hospitality and the built environment.

We aim to build an encompassing Design department that encompasses architecture, interior design, masterplanning, amenities and buyout lists, uniforms, soft furnishing and styling.

Team Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Technical assistance (TA) experts and Project managers providing guidance, support, and professional development opportunities.

Global Project Management: Chair regular Design & Project meetings and oversee hotel and residence development projects worldwide from inception to handover & opening, ensuring they are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Ensure effective internal communication and relationships on projects with all other departments and specialists, including Brands, F&B, Spa, Development, Pre-Opening, and Operations. This includes:

. Quality Assurance: Implement and maintain quality assurance processes to guarantee that projects meet and exceed company and industry standards. This includes:

. Budget Oversight: Manage project budgets and financial resources, ensuring cost-effective execution of projects and adherence to financial targets.

. Risk Mitigation: Identify and proactively mitigate project risks and issues to prevent delays and cost overruns.

. Owner and Consultant Relations: Act as the principal company representative to and from owners and project consultants, fostering positive relationships and effective communication.

Design Excellence: Foster a culture of design excellence within the organization, working closely with architects and designers to ensure that our hotels are innovative, functional, aesthetically exceptional and on the leading edge of green building and ecological masterplanning standards.

. Ensure design guidelines and standards are up to date and market relevant for each of the brands in the portfolio, as well as associated cost profiles

. Develop project-specific design briefs working closely with stakeholders to ensure alignment on design aspiration

. Provide guidance to the Design Consultants on design and advise on Banyan Group Brands design and construction standards to ensure conformity and strive for innovation

Feasibility Assessment: Work with departments to provide development assessment for potential conversion and re-licensing projects, brand alignment and attributes, quality of project, functional planning and consultant selections.

Reporting and Accountability: Prepare regular reports for senior management on project progress, financial performance, and key performance indicators.

Job Requirements

- Extensive experience (10+ years) in project management and design leadership in the hospitality industry.

- Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Project Management

- Passion for biophilic design, ecological masterplanning, sustainable materials and architecture

- Proven track record of successfully managing and delivering worldclass, global hotel development projects.

-Experience with delivering multibrand design guidelines and standards

-Experience woking across multicultural environments relating to our operating footprint

- Strong leadership, team management, and mentorship skills.

- Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.

- Knowledge of industry trends, design principles, and project management best practices.

- Willingness to travel internationally as required.

- Relevant certifications are a plus.
