Job Description

Job Description & Core Responsibilities

  • Provide overall operational, safety and technical supervision of hyperbaric and saturation diving operations for subsea and tunnelling civil engineering projects.
  • Ensure diving operations are carried out in accordance with applicable IMCA / ADCI industry standards and Singapore MOM Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) requirements.
  • Supervise and coordinate dive teams, Life Support Technicians (LSTs) and hyperbaric technicians during TBM interventions, cutterhead maintenance and compressed-air operations.
  • Review and implement Dive Plans, Risk Assessments, Method Statements and Emergency Response / Evacuation Procedures for hyperbaric operations.
  • Oversee the operation and maintenance of hyperbaric systems, saturation spreads, decompression chambers, gas management and life support systems.
  • Coordinate with project management, engineering, safety and subcontractor teams to ensure safe and efficient execution of diving activities.
  • Ensure appropriate emergency response, rescue and medical procedures are in place and understood by the relevant personnel.
  • Maintain operational records, reports and documentation relating to diving and hyperbaric activities.

Job Requirements

  • Relevant professional certification or competency in commercial saturation / bell diving supervision, such as ADCI Bell/Saturation Dive Supervisor or IMCA Saturation Diving Supervisor, where applicable to the scope of work.
  • Valid medical fitness certification for hyperbaric / offshore diving operations, as required for the role.
  • Minimum 15 years of relevant commercial diving experience, with substantial experience in saturation diving or hyperbaric operations.
  • Proven experience in a senior supervisory or superintendent-level role, preferably in major civil infrastructure, tunnelling, marine or subsea projects.
  • Practical knowledge of hyperbaric systems, saturation diving operations, gas management and life support systems.
  • Experience in TBM cutterhead intervention under pressure / compressed-air working conditions would be an advantage.
  • Knowledge of emergency hyperbaric rescue and medical procedures, including relevant first aid / diving medical emergency training.
  • Strong safety leadership, communication, coordination and problem-solving skills.
