Your Role And Responsibilities
As an SAP ABAP Lead Consultant, you will lead the design, development, and delivery of SAP technical solutions while managing teams, engaging clients, and ensuring high-quality outcomes across projects.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Lead end-to-end SAP ABAP development across implementations, rollouts, and transformation projects (S/4HANA)
- Architect and design scalable technical solutions, ensuring alignment with business goals and SAP best practices
- Oversee development of RICEF objects (Reports, Interfaces, Conversions, Enhancements, Forms)
- Guide the adoption of modern SAP technologies including CDS Views, AMDP, Fiori, and OData services
- Ensure system performance, code optimization, and adherence to development standards
- Own technical deliverables, timelines, and quality across SAP development workstreams
- Participate in solution design workshops and provide technical advisory to clients
- Manage development lifecycle including design, build, testing, and deployment
- Drive code reviews, quality assurance, and compliance with IBM delivery frameworks
Required Technical And Professional Expertise
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent
- 8–12+ years of SAP ABAP development experience, with at least 2–3 years in a lead role
- Strong expertise in:
- ABAP Objects (OOP) and modular programming
- Data Dictionary (DDIC) and performance tuning
- ALV Reports, SmartForms, SAP Scripts, Adobe Forms
- Interfaces: IDocs, BAPIs, RFCs, Web Services
- Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA and HANA concepts (CDS Views, AMDP)
- Experience leading SAP implementation or transformation projects
- Strong knowledge of integration frameworks and APIs
- Proven ability to design scalable and high-performance SAP solutions
Preferred Technical And Professional Experience
- Experience with SAP Fiori/UI5 and SAP Gateway (OData services)
- Knowledge of SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP)
- Exposure to DevOps practices, CI/CD pipelines, and automation tools in SAP
- SAP certifications in ABAP, S/4HANA, or related domains
- Experience across multiple SAP modules (e.g., Finance, Supply Chain, HR)
- Familiarity with cloud-based SAP deployments (RISE with SAP)
