Role Purpose
The SAP Functional Lead will provide end‑to‑end functional leadership across multiple SAP process areas for the Fusion programme. This role combines hands‑on SAP functional expertise with good project management capability, ensuring design integrity, cross‑tower alignment, issue resolution, and successful delivery across APAC markets.
The role acts as the central integration point between business teams, Regional Data Leads, Data Champions, vendors, and global stakeholders. This is key role that works and supports the SAP Enterprise Lead.
Key Responsibilities
- Functional Leadership (Cross‑Tower)
- Provide functional support across OTC, S2P, PTM, and R2R process areas.
- Review and validate functional designs, WRICEF objects, and integration points.
- Ensure alignment with the global template and APAC governance standards.
- Support process harmonisation and solution consistency across markets.
- Project & Delivery Management
- Lead daily stand‑ups, RAID management, sprint planning, and delivery tracking.
- Coordinate deliverables across multiple functional streams and vendors.
- Prepare project updates, risk assessments, and SteerCo materials.
- Ensure readiness for SIT, UAT, cutover, and hypercare.
- Integration & Data Readiness
- Oversee end‑to‑end scenario validation across towers.
- Support data migration cycles, mapping, cleansing, and defect resolution.
- Work closely with Regional Data Leads and Data Champions on master data impacts.
- Ensure cross‑tower dependencies are identified and resolved early.
- Stakeholder & Market Engagement
- Engage with business teams across TH, SG, HK, and MY to gather requirements.
- Translate business needs into SAP functional solutions.
- Support training, change impact assessments, and UAT execution.
- Act as the primary liaison between business, IT, and global teams.
- Issue Resolution & Quality Assurance
- Triage and resolve functional defects across modules.
- Coordinate with technical teams (ABAP, CPI, BTP) for root cause analysis.
- Ensure high‑quality documentation, testing evidence, and sign‑offs.
Required Skills & Experience
Functional Expertise
- Strong working knowledge in at least 2-3 SAP modules (SD, MM, PP, FI/CO).
- Broad understanding of remaining modules to support cross‑functional integration.
- Experience with SAP interfaces, CPI/PI/PO, and master data structures.
Project Management
- 3-5 years of PM or PMO experience in SAP programmes.
- Proven ability to manage RAID logs, sprints, and multi‑stream delivery.
- Experience coordinating vendors and offshore/onshore teams.
Data & Integration
- Experience with data migration cycles, mapping, and validation.
- Understanding of master data governance and cross‑tower dependencies.
Soft Skills
- Strong communication and stakeholder management.
- Ability to challenge vendors and drive accountability.
- Comfortable working in fast‑paced, multi‑market environments.
- Hands‑on, proactive, and able to work independently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in IT, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- 10-15 years of SAP functional experience.
- Experience delivering at least one major SAP transformation (ECC or S/4).
- FMCG or manufacturing industry experience is an advantage.
