Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (SAP BOBI) Engineer to design, develop, implement, and support enterprise reporting and business intelligence solutions. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable reporting platforms, optimize system performance, and support business intelligence initiatives while adhering to industry best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and maintain SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (SAP BOBI) reporting and analytics solutions.
- Develop and enhance reports, dashboards, and universes to meet business and operational requirements.
- Analyse business requirements and translate them into effective reporting and business intelligence solutions.
- Collaborate with business users, analysts, and technical teams to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
- Support SAP BOBI platform administration, performance tuning, and troubleshooting activities.
- Assist in SAP HANA database integration and migration activities where required.
- Perform system analysis, defect resolution, testing, and deployment of BI solutions.
- Monitor system performance and recommend improvements to enhance scalability, reliability, and reporting efficiency.
- Prepare and maintain technical documentation, including solution designs, user guides, and operational procedures.
- Participate in Agile project activities, including sprint planning, reviews, and retrospectives.
- Ensure solutions comply with organisational standards, security requirements, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to team members when required.
Key Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Experience implementing and supporting SAP BusinessObjects Business Intelligence (SAP BOBI) solutions.
- Strong proficiency in SAP BusinessObjects reporting tools, including Web Intelligence (WebI), Universe Design, and Central Management Console (CMC).
- Experience with SAP HANA databases and business intelligence reporting.
- Knowledge of SAP Basis administration and system landscape management is advantageous.
- Good understanding of software development lifecycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Experience analysing business requirements and delivering reporting and analytics solutions.
- Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder collaboration skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with SAP HANA database migration projects.
- Familiarity with performance tuning and optimisation of SAP BOBI environments.
- Experience with report scheduling, security configuration, and user administration.
- Knowledge of SQL, data modelling, and enterprise data warehousing concepts.
