SAP ABAP Developer (Junior) - Contract

ROLE OVERVIEW

We are seeking a skilled SAP ABAP Developer with solid practical expertise in Core Data Services (CDS), ABAP on HANA, and performance tuning/optimization. The ideal candidate will design and build robust SAP applications, lead technical efforts end-to-end, and act as the primary technical point of contact for business stakeholders.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

. Design, build and configure applications to meet business process and application requirements.

. Prepare detailed technical design documents for requirements to be implemented.

. Prepare, conduct and document application unit testing results.

. Lead the effort to design, build and configure applications, acting as the primary point of contact.

. Support incident investigation, fix, and documentation for issue resolution.

TECHNICAL SKILLS DETAIL

Core Data Services (CDS)

. Development and enhancement of CDS views with authorization checks.

. Design of CDS-based data models aligned with business requirements.

. Implementation of CDS annotations for OData exposure and Fiori elements.

ABAP on HANA

. Develop high-performance ABAP programs leveraging HANA-specific capabilities.

. Performance tuning and optimization of existing ABAP code for HANA execution.

. Use of AMDP (ABAP Managed Database Procedures) for in-database processing.

ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP) - Advantageous

. Experience with RAP-based OData service development.

Knowledge of behavior definitions, projections, and business object modelling

Additional Technical Areas - Advantageous

. IDOC development/monitoring, Web Services (SOAP/REST), and OData services.

. SAP Workflow - both Classic and Flexible (SAP Business Workflow / BRF+).

. ALV-based reporting using Object-Oriented ABAP programming techniques.

. SAP Fiori app enhancement and custom tile development.

. Familiarity with modern development tools: Eclipse (ADT), VS Code, and GIT version control.
