Sales Support Engineer

Job Summary

The Data Center Business Developer identifies, develops, and captures growth opportunities within the data center market segment. This role engages early inthe customer decision cycle to influence design, promote Trane Technologies products, solutions, and drive long‑term strategic relationships. The position requires strong technical acumen, market expertise, and the ability to lead cross-functional coordination in support of complex opportunities.

Key Responsibilities

Business Growth & Strategy:

. Develop and execute segment strategy for data center markets (hyperscale, colocation, enterprise)

. Identify and qualify new business opportunities aligned with Trane Technologies sustainability and growth priorities (Chiller, CDU, FWU)

. Build robust opportunity pipelines and manage data center customer expectations

. You will promote and propose Trane Chiller & Equipment to Data Center owners, consultants, and contractors

Customer Engagement & Relationship Management:

. Responsible for developing long-term customer relationships

. Building close business relationships with customers, especially key accounts

. Maximizing account penetration and customer retention

. Identify potential opportunities & develop solutions with existing & new customers

. Negotiates value, addresses resistance, and closes the sale

. Provide customer feedback to support continuous improvement, innovation, and portfolio development

Technical Aptitude:

. Differentiates & made Trane a preferred supplier

. Applies strong understanding of HVAC systems, mission‑critical cooling, and sustainable design principles

. Partner with sales teams, engineering, product management, controls, service, and contracting to develop customer proposals and holistic solutions.

Operational Excellence:

. Update the new project forecast timely manner into the system

. You also need to ensure all works carried out in accordance with the specified quality and EHS standards

Requirement:

. Degree in Mechanical/ Electrical engineering or its equivalent

. 5+ years of working experience in Data Center related sectors, engineering sales, and HVAC industry.

. Knowledge of data center cooling technologies and mechanical system design

. Proven ability to build and influence relationships at senior levels

. Customer driven with excellent communication &interpersonal skills

. Experience working in a matrixed environment

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with hyperscalers or major colocation providers
