The role of a sales promoter in a saree specialist environment involves a combination of general sales skills and specific expertise in traditional Indian attire to effectively engage customers and drive sales

Key Responsibilities

A Saree Specialist Sales Promoter's duties go beyond generic sales, requiring cultural and product-specific knowledge:

  • Product Expertise: Possess in-depth knowledge of different types of sarees (e.g., silk, cotton, georgette), regional variations, fabrics, weaving techniques, and current trends to provide expert advice to customers.
  • Customer Engagement & Consultation: Actively approach and engage with customers, listening to their specific needs (occasion, budget, personal style) and guiding them to suitable selections. This often involves building a personal rapport to encourage repeat business.
  • Styling and Draping Assistance: Provide hands-on assistance with styling, explaining how to wear or drape different types of sarees, and suggesting complementary accessories like blouses and jewellery.
  • Visual Merchandising: Ensure the saree displays and promotional areas are visually appealing, well-organized, and align with the brand's image to attract foot traffic.
  • Sales and Target Achievement: Drive sales to meet or exceed daily/monthly individual and store sales targets. This includes handling transactions accurately and processing payments.
  • Customer Relationship Management: Cultivate lasting relationships with clients, managing inquiries, addressing concerns, and following up on purchases or new product arrivals.
  • Market Feedback: Collect and report customer feedback on preferences, trends, and product suggestions to management or the buying team.
  • Store Operations: Assist with general retail operations, including maintaining stock inventory, cleanliness of the counter/store, and other ad-hoc tasks as required.
