Position Description

Position Overview: The Sales & Marketing Specialist will play a pivotal role in driving business growth across Singapore and Southeast Asia. This position requires a dynamic, results-oriented professional with a strong technical background and proven expertise in sales and marketing within the water and wastewater treatment industry. The role demands strategic thinking, exceptional communication skills, and the ability to foster collaborative relationships to achieve ambitious business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Business Development: Identify and pursue new opportunities in water and wastewater treatment, recycle/reuse systems, and resource recovery management across Singapore and Southeast Asia.
  • Collaboration: Partner with Process and Proposal teams to craft robust business plans tailored to regional markets.
  • Sales Strategy: Develop and implement initiatives to enhance sales and market presence, including pricing strategies aligned with customer budgets and procurement processes.
  • Customer Relations: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, consultants, and key stakeholders, managing pre-qualification processes and technical specifications effectively.
  • Market Analysis: Perform SWOT analyses for water treatment plants (WTP), wastewater treatment plants (WWTP), recycle/reuse projects, and related chemical solutions.
  • Technical Presentations: Deliver compelling presentations to consultants and prospective clients, ensuring inquiries align with desired technical and commercial frameworks.
  • Research & Data Analysis: Analyze market data to identify target audiences, devise actionable strategies, and compile financial and statistical insights.
  • Site Assessments: Conduct site visits to evaluate technical requirements, select local partners, and address location-specific challenges.
  • Review of Proposal: Contribute to the creation of techno-commercial proposals through team and by communicating the correct problem statement of client, including scheme selection for water/wastewater treatment and waste to energy segment and cost estimations in collaboration with Mechanical, Electrical & Instrumentation (E&I), and Civil teams.
  • Project Coordination: Participate in project kick-off meetings after award of the project, monitor progress through status reports, and ensure seamless project handovers.
  • Budget Management: Collaborate with the Finance team to finalize annual budgets and work diligently to achieve sales and revenue targets.
  • Industry Engagement: Represent the company at water exhibitions, seminars, and relevant industry events to enhance visibility and network with key stakeholders.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Education: Education in Chemical, Mechanical, or Environmental background
  • Experience: At least 5 years of progressive experience in business development, preferably in the global water and wastewater treatment market.
  • Track Record: Demonstrated success in driving business growth within the Southeast Asia region or similar markets.
  • Core Competencies: Highly disciplined, energetic, and self-motivated with exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Proven ability to multitask and deliver results under challenging Key Performance Indicators (KPIs). Quick learner with adaptability to acquire new skills and thrive in a fast-paced environment. Strong team player with a collaborative mindset and a focus on achieving collective goals.
  • Technical & Analytical Skills: Proficient in market analysis, data interpretation, and digital marketing tools.
