Role Summary:
The Sales Manager is responsible for leading and coordinating all sales activities within the assigned territory to achieve and exceed business objectives. This role involves driving revenue growth, managing and developing a high-performing sales team, and overseeing a network of agents and distributors. The position also requires close collaboration with internal stakeholders, strengthening relationships with existing customers, and identifying new business opportunities to support long-term strategic growth.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute the annual strategic sales plan aligned with organisational objectives and market opportunities.
- Set, allocate, and monitor sales targets for direct reports to ensure achievement or exceedance of booking and revenue goals.
- Prepare and manage the annual budget, ensuring sales expenses are controlled and within approved limits.
- Provide accurate, timely, and reliable sales forecasts and reports to management.
- Define clear goals and objectives for team members, and drive performance through coaching, training, and ongoing support.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including Operations and Commercial functions, to ensure customer needs are met efficiently and competitively.
- Build, maintain, and expand strong relationships with customers, partners, and key stakeholders.
- Identify, appoint, and manage agents, distributors, and strategic alliances to enhance market coverage and performance.
- Monitor alliance and partner performance to ensure contractual obligations and business outcomes are achieved.
- Support organisational initiatives and programs, ensuring effective communication and implementation across the team.
- Manage receivables by supporting timely collection of outstanding payments where required.
- Foster a positive, collaborative team environment and promote a culture of ethics and integrity.
- Undertake additional duties as required to support business objectives.
Requirements:
- Experience in sales of pumps, mechanical seals, or similar industrial equipment.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant discipline.
- Minimum of 8-10 years of relevant sales experience, including leadership responsibilities.
- Proven ability to manage, coach, and develop high-performing sales teams.
- Strong commercial acumen with experience in budgeting, forecasting, and achieving financial targets.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and sales management systems.
- Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Excellent communication, presentation, and influencing skills.
- Ability and willingness to travel within the assigned territory as required.
