Identify and develop new MICE and events business opportunities through prospecting, networking, referrals and other sales channels.
Generate new leads and build a strong sales pipeline across corporate, association and event-related sectors.
Represent the organisation at relevant local and international trade shows, networking sessions and industry events.
Identify new market segments and business opportunities to support revenue growth.
Work towards assigned sales and revenue targets.
Develop and maintain long-term relationships with corporate clients, Professional Conference Organisers (PCOs), event agencies, brand agencies and other business partners.
Manage existing accounts and identify opportunities for repeat and additional business.
Understand clients event requirements and recommend suitable venue and event solutions.
Maintain regular engagement with key accounts throughout the sales and event planning process.
Prepare customised proposals, quotations and presentations based on clients event requirements.
Conduct site inspections and present suitable venue options and event configurations to prospective clients.
Negotiate commercial terms, pricing and contracts while maintaining profitability and client satisfaction.
Follow up closely on proposals and sales opportunities through to confirmation.
Work closely with internal operations and event teams to ensure confirmed requirements are communicated accurately.
Facilitate a smooth handover from the sales stage to event planning and execution.
Coordinate with clients and internal stakeholders to address changes or additional requirements before the event.
Support a high standard of service delivery throughout the client journey.
Monitor MICE, hospitality and events industry trends, market developments and competitor activities.
Maintain accurate and updated records of leads, opportunities, client interactions and sales activities.
Provide regular updates on sales pipeline, account activities and business opportunities.
Gather market and client feedback to support continuous improvement of the organisation's offerings.
Diploma or Degree in Business, Marketing, Hospitality Management, Events Management or a related discipline.
At least 3 years of relevant sales, business development or account management experience within the MICE, events, venue, hospitality or related sectors.
Experience managing corporate clients, event organisers, PCOs or agencies would be advantageous.
Strong business development, negotiation and closing skills.
Good interpersonal, presentation and communication skills.
Able to develop customised solutions based on different client and event requirements.
Comfortable working independently and managing multiple sales opportunities concurrently.
Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
Strong interest in the MICE and events industry.
