About the Role
This is a selling manager position based in a single club location, where you will balance strategic oversight with hands-on sales execution. You will be responsible for planning, leading, and controlling all local sales strategies and activities to achieve revenue, profit, and market share targets.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Leading Sales Operations: Managing the day-to-day sales operations of the club, driving the team to meet and exceed membership sales targets.
- Strategic Collaboration: Working closely with the Marketing Manager to inform communications that inspire the sales team and generate strong member introductions.
- Setting Direction: Establishing and coordinating sales objectives, policies, and programs aligned with the local business plan, including setting targets and quotas.
- Performance Management: Preparing reports, budgets, and forecasts to monitor business performance, while appraising sales processes and team efficiency.
- Team Leadership: Recruiting, developing, motivating, and retaining a high-performing sales team. This includes coaching, providing regular feedback, and managing individual performance through formal and informal evaluations.
- Compliance & Safety: Ensuring the team is fully trained in their roles, understands emergency procedures, and meets all Workplace Health & Safety (WH&S) responsibilities.
Requirements
Minimum/Core Requirements:
- Proven experience leading and managing a sales team, with a strong track record of coaching and developing members to achieve high performance.
- Demonstrated ability to work to KPIs and consistently achieve/exceed sales targets, with experience managing budgets and performance goals.
- Senior-level sales experience (typically 5+ years) in a comparable position, or demonstrated progression through a leadership pipeline.
- Proven experience in delivering impeccable customer service and effectively responding to feedback and complaints.
- Excellent in-person communication and interpersonal skills.
- Intermediate proficiency in CRM databases and MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Preferred/Bonus Requirements:
- Prior experience leading a team within a fast-paced or consumer-facing environment.
- Experience in the fitness, wellness, premium hospitality, or luxury retail sectors.
- Understanding of the health and fitness industry landscape.
