The Sales Engineer position with a global leader in industrial automation and precision innovation is a premier opportunity for you to learn consultative, solution-based sales. In this role, sales professionals work in a highly professional and fast-paced office an average of two days a week, while three days a week they visit manufacturers in a sales territory to consult face-to-face on solving customers critical quality control, reliability, and research or design applications.
While the product portfolio is highly technical, you will receive world-class training to become an expert on industrial applications, a proactive sales process, and conducting successful technical consultations.
Comprehensive Training: Attend paid product and application training at the Singapore Head Office (approximately 3 to 6 months).
Technical Expertise: Develop a thorough understanding of advanced automation products and applications through classes, seminars, and on-the-job training.
Consultative Selling: Provide technical consultation and service to customers to help solve their applications using industry-leading products across a variety of sectors.
Adaptability: Demonstrate a high degree of flexibility in adapting to corporate expectations and the unique challenges presented by manufacturing customers.
Business Development: Secure new customers consistently and efficiently while responding promptly to existing customer requests.
Field Engagement: Travel to customer locations three days per week to sell products and services into a wide variety of manufacturing and related industries.
Strategic Planning: Coordinate account strategy and contribute to the territory's strategic plan.
Market Growth: Successfully implement new product-launch strategies and deliver growth in market share within the assigned sales territory.
Autonomy: Manage day-to-day activities with high levels of professional responsibility and minimal supervision.
Education: Preferably a Degree in Business, Engineering, or a related technical field.
Aptitude: A strong interest and aptitude to master highly technical industrial products.
Environment: A genuine interest in working within manufacturing and industrial environments.
Communication: Excellent presentation, oral, and written communication skills.
Soft Skills: Ability to listen and proactively react to customer questions and requests.
Mindset: Goal-oriented and extremely hardworking with a desire to make a measurable contribution to the firm's success.
Professionalism: Desire to improve through intensive training, mentorship, and a process-oriented sales approach.
Mobility: Willingness to travel 60% of the time, including the possibility of overnight travel.
Licensing: A valid Class 3 License is preferred.
