Our client is a global leader in the engineering and manufacturing industry, renowned for delivering high-performance engine systems and power solutions. They design, manufacture, and maintain cutting-edge products and systems, including power plants, transportation systems, and industrial machinery. As they continue to drive growth and expansion, they are now seeking a Sales Engineer to join their team and contribute to their ongoing success.
Key Responsibilities
Work closely with the Department Manager to develop new applications for marine engines and generator systems.
Identify and pursue new markets and customer segments to grow market presence.
Prepare and present tailored technical and commercial proposals (engine/generator solutions) by thoroughly understanding customer requirements.
Liaise closely with our Japan factory, internal teams, distributors, and customers to handle sales and technical clarifications, ensuring smooth project execution.
Provide basic application and technical support, including system understanding and solution concepts.
Maintain and strengthen relationships with existing distributors and customers by participating in networking events, exhibitions, and industry activities.
Identify opportunities to increase share of wallet and expand the overall business scope.
Monitor market trends and customer needs to proactively position our solutions.
Key Requirements
Diploma or Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.
3-5 years of relevant experience within the marine, offshore, shipyard, power generation, engine, or generator industries.
Solid basic technical understanding of engines, generators, or mechanical/electrical systems.
Proven track record in technical sales, application development, and market development.
Familiarity with marine equipment, propulsion systems, or power systems.
Ability to accurately read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
Strong communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to multitask effectively.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
Willingness to travel as required to meet business needs.
