Job Description

Position Summary

The Sales Director, APAC will lead commercial growth and market expansion for the company's genetic testing and whole genome sequencing (WGS) portfolio across the Asia-Pacific region. This role is responsible for developing and executing regional sales strategies, building high-performing sales teams, establishing key customer relationships, and driving revenue growth among clinical laboratories, hospitals, research institutions, biotechnology companies, pharmaceutical organizations, and government healthcare programs.

The ideal candidate combines deep knowledge of genomics, molecular diagnostics, precision medicine, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies with proven success leading complex enterprise sales organizations across diverse APAC markets.

Key Responsibilities

Commercial Leadership

  • Develop and execute the APAC commercial strategy to achieve annual revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
  • Lead regional sales planning, forecasting, territory management, and pipeline development.
  • Identify new market opportunities in clinical diagnostics, oncology, rare disease testing, reproductive health, pharmacogenomics, and population genomics programs.
  • Drive adoption of whole genome sequencing and advanced genetic testing solutions throughout the region.

Business Development

  • Establish strategic partnerships with healthcare providers, laboratory networks, research organizations, academic institutions, and government agencies.
  • Build relationships with key decision-makers, including laboratory directors, pathologists, geneticists, clinicians, procurement leaders, and healthcare policymakers.
  • Negotiate high-value contracts, framework agreements, and multi-year partnerships.
  • Support expansion into emerging APAC markets and develop go-to-market strategies tailored to local healthcare ecosystems.

Market Development

  • Monitor industry trends in genomics, precision medicine, companion diagnostics, and molecular testing.
  • Analyze competitor activities and market dynamics to inform strategic decisions.
  • Represent the company at industry conferences, scientific meetings, and customer events.
  • Collaborate with marketing teams to develop regional campaigns, educational programs, and thought leadership initiatives.

Experience

  • 10–15+ years of successful sales leadership experience in genomics, molecular diagnostics, life sciences, biotechnology, or healthcare technology.
  • 5+ years leading regional or multi-country sales teams within APAC.
  • Demonstrated success selling NGS, genetic testing, molecular diagnostics, or precision medicine solutions.
  • Experience managing large enterprise accounts and strategic partnerships.
  • Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets.
