Job Summary
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Safety Officer to oversee workplace safety across marine and land project operations. The role is responsible for implementing safety management systems, ensuring full compliance with Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations, and driving a strong safety culture across all project sites.
Responsibilities
- Lead the implementation and enforcement of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements across project sites.
- Develop, review, and maintain project Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), Risk Assessments (RA), and Safe Work Procedures (SWP) to ensure compliance with company and statutory safety standards.
- Conduct regular site inspections and safety audits to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and non-compliance, and ensure timely corrective and preventive actions are implemented.
- Investigate incidents, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective measures to prevent recurrence.
- Organize and conduct toolbox meetings, safety briefings, and WSH inductions to promote safety awareness and safe work practices among all site personnel.
- Work closely with project managers, supervisors, and subcontractors to ensure safety requirements are integrated into daily site operations.
- Liaise with regulatory authorities, auditors, and clients on safety matters when required.
- Maintain accurate safety records, reports, and documentation in accordance with company and regulatory requirements.
Requirements
- Registered Workplace Safety and Health Officer (WSHO) with the Ministry of Manpower.
- Relevant certification in Workplace Safety and Health, such as qualifications recognized by the Workplace Safety and Health Council.
- Prior experience in marine and land project environments is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Singapore WSH regulations and safety management systems.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills to influence safe behaviour across site teams.
- Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to work independently in a fast-paced project environment.
