The Safety Officer / Safety Coordinator is responsible for promoting and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment by implementing workplace safety programs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements, conducting inspections, and driving continuous improvement in safety performance. The role works closely with employees, contractors, and management to prevent incidents, reduce risks, and foster a strong safety culture.
- Implement and maintain workplace safety policies, procedures, and programs.
- Monitor compliance with company safety standards and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Conduct routine workplace inspections and identify potential hazards.
- Develop and recommend corrective and preventive actions to eliminate risks.
- Perform risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification activities.
- Investigate workplace incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions.
- Prepare incident investigation reports and recommend corrective actions.
- Coordinate emergency drills and evacuation exercises
- Conduct safety inductions for employees, contractors, and visitors.
- Organize and deliver safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns.
Requirements:
- Diploma or Degree in Occupational Safety and Health, Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or a related field
- At least 3 to 5 years of safety experience either as a safety coordinator or safety officer role from any industry welcome. (A registered safety coordinator / A registered safety officer)
