The Safety Officer is responsible for implementing and maintaining Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) standards at project sites. The role ensures compliance with company policies, client requirements, and local safety regulations. The Safety Officer works closely with project teams, contractors, and clients to promote a safe working environment, prevent accidents, and ensure all safety procedures and documentation are properly implemented and maintained.
Responsibilities:
.Develop and implement the WSH management system at project site.
.Compliance and advisory role (such as familiar with the WSH Act, WSH Act subsidiary legislation, ACOPs and Environmental Protection and Management Act)
.Liaise with authorities such as the MOM / NEA inspectors during their visits and closing up of authorities inspection findings
.Conduct regular workplace safety inspections and monitoring of both objectives and KPIs
.Liaise and Conduct meetings such as WSH committee meeting and daily coordination meeting, training and promotion
.Involve in mandatory safety audit administered by MOM under the WSH Act.
.Conduct risk assessment and SWP
.Performed duties as mentioned in the WSH (Workplace Safety and Health Officers) regulations
.Develop and implement environmental management system including both vector and health elements
.Conduct and prepare ECO inspection report as according to NEA requirement
Requirements:
.Minimum 7 years of relevant experience in construction or industrial projects in a safety-related role.
.Possession of relevant safety certification is preferred.
.Good communication and interpersonal skills.
.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.)
.Able to travel / relocate
