Key Responsibilities
1. Site Safety Management
- Conduct daily site safety inspections and identify unsafe acts and conditions.
- Monitor construction activities to ensure compliance with safe work procedures.
- Ensure all workers comply with site safety rules and regulations.
- Coordinate and monitor corrective actions for safety violations and hazards.
2. Risk Assessment and Safe Work Procedures
- Assist in the preparation, review, and implementation of Risk Assessments (RA).
- Ensure Safe Work Procedures (SWP) are communicated and followed by workers.
- Participate in hazard identification and risk control measures.
3. Safety Training and Induction
- Conduct safety orientation and induction for new employees, workers, and subcontractors.
- Organize toolbox meetings and safety briefings.
- Maintain records of safety training and certifications.
4. Permit-to-Work Coordination
- Assist in the administration and monitoring of Permit-to-Work (PTW) systems.
- Verify that permits are properly approved before commencement of high-risk activities.
- Ensure permit conditions are complied with throughout the work process.
5. Accident and Incident Investigation
- Assist in investigating accidents, incidents, dangerous occurrences, and near misses.
- Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
- Monitor the implementation of corrective actions.
6. PPE and Safety Equipment Management
- Ensure workers are equipped with the required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Conduct regular inspections of safety equipment and PPE.
- Monitor proper usage and maintenance of safety equipment.
7. Documentation and Reporting
- Maintain site safety records, inspection reports, training records, and permits.
- Prepare weekly and monthly safety reports.
- Ensure all safety documentation is up to date and readily available for audits.
8. Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans.
- Coordinate emergency drills and evacuation exercises.
- Ensure emergency equipment is maintained and accessible.
9. Liaison and Coordination
- Coordinate with project managers, site supervisors, subcontractors, and workers on safety matters.
- Attend site coordination meetings and safety committee meetings.
- Assist during inspections and audits conducted by clients or authorities.
Requirements
- Possess a valid Safety Coordinator Certificate recognized in Singapore.
- Knowledge of Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) regulations and construction safety requirements.
- Familiarity with MOM, BCA, and construction industry safety standards.
- Good communication, interpersonal, and report-writing skills.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
