Responsible for implementing, monitoring and maintaining the Workplace Safety and Health (WSH) system at construction or project sites in accordance with Singapore WSH Act and MOM regulations. To ensure safe working conditions, conduct risk assessments, enforce safety standards, coordinate with contractors, and prevent workplace accidents and violations.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement and enforce company WSH policies, procedures and safe work practices to comply with MOM, NEA and other statutory requirements.
- Conduct daily site safety inspections, identify hazards, issue corrective actions and follow up until closed.
- Review Method Statements, Risk Assessments (RA), Permit-to-Work (PTW) applications and ensure proper approval and execution.
- Organise toolbox talks, safety briefings, induction training and workplace safety campaigns.
- Maintain accurate WSH records, inspection reports, training logs, certificates and permits.
- Investigate incidents, near misses and accidents prepare root-cause analysis and preventive measures.
- Liaise with main contractors, subcontractors, project managers and government authorities on WSH matters.
- Coordinate fire drills, evacuation drills and first aid arrangements.
- Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE, fire safety equipment, lifting gear and electrical installations.
- Perform any other ad-hoc duties assigned by management.
Requirements
- Possess valid Singapore WSH qualifications:Advanced Certificate in Workplace Safety & Health (AC-WSH)or registered Safety Coordinator certification
- Minimum 2 years of relevant working experience as a Safety Coordinator in Singapore construction / engineering / building industry.
- Familiar with WSH Act, PTW system, ISO 45001 and risk assessment methodologies.
- Proficient in written and spoken English bilingual in Chinese is an advantage.
- Strong knowledge of site safety compliance, incident investigation and MOM regulations.
- Computer literate (MS Office, safety reporting systems).
- Able to work on-site, under pressure and perform overtime when required.
- Hold valid Singapore work pass (EP / SP / PR / Citizenship).
- Meticulous, responsible, proactive and able to work independently.
