Job Summary
Perform rope access tasks including selecting and maintaining equipment, directing hoisting operations, conducting safety checks, and completing work to client satisfaction in construction and facade installation settings.
Responsibilities
- Select appropriate cables, ropes, pulleys, winches, blocks, and slings for fixed overhead structures to ensure safe and effective operations
- Direct workers engaged in hoisting machinery and equipment to maintain safety and efficiency
- Complete required paperwork such as tracking rope hours and safety documents accurately and timely
- Participate actively in on-the-job training with on-site personnel to enhance skills and knowledge
- Maintain rope equipment and conduct regular equipment checks to ensure operational safety
- Utilize shared equipment responsibly to minimize damage and extend usability
- Apply knowledge of health and safety procedures to maintain a safe work environment
- Identify and report unsafe practices or equipment damage promptly to supervisors
- Conduct daily job site hazard assessments and lead pre-work safety meetings to mitigate risks
- Attend safety meetings and contribute relevant input to improve workplace safety
- Complete assigned work scope fully and to the satisfaction of clients
Required competencies and certifications
- Valid and current IRATA Level 1 Certification
- Ability to work at high elevations safely
- Medical self-certification per IRATA confirming ability to bend, kneel, climb, squat, and maintain full range of motion
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted and operate hand tools
- Successful completion of a pre-access alcohol and drug test
