Primary Objectives of Position
- Oversee and manage all maintenance activities within the depot and workshop
- Ensure the availability and reliability of passenger trains, engineering train vehicles, light rail vehicles, and workshop or plant equipment
- Control and monitor the section's budget expenditure
- Ensure all defects in vehicles and equipment are rectified promptly, safely, and effectively
- Provide technical support to other Rolling Stock sections, including developing and managing maintenance plans, work instructions, procedures, and technical documentation, as well as reporting performance data
- Ensure all Rolling Stock staff and contractors are properly trained, competent, and able to perform their duties safely within the railway environment
- Take overall responsibility for corrective and preventive maintenance of passenger trains, engineering trains, light rail vehicles, and depot plant equipment
- Lead and oversee all engineering projects related to Rolling Stock
