Job Description

About Us

Phridom AI - Ability Robotics is an early-stage robotics and AI company building the core systems behind embodied intelligence. Our technologies help robots understand the physical world, learn intelligent behaviours, and operate reliably in real environments. We  re still in stealth, but we  re already working with a select group of partners to validate our systems in high-impact robotics applications. If you're excited to build foundational technologies for the next generation of robotics and want meaningful ownership over hard technical problems, we'd love to hear from you.

Role Overview

Lead development of simulation capabilities for robot development, model testing, evaluation, and validation. You will create credible, scalable environments and workflows that shorten iteration cycles while maintaining a clear connection between simulated and real-world performance.

What You'll Work On

· Define the simulation architecture and roadmap for manipulation, locomotion, perception, and evaluation use cases.

· Build and maintain robot, sensor, actuator, object, and environment models.

· Develop scenario generation, domain randomization, synthetic data, and repeatable benchmark workflows.

· Create scalable automated evaluation pipelines with meaningful task, safety, robustness, and performance metrics.

· Validate simulator fidelity against hardware data and quantify sim-to-real gaps.

· Integrate simulation with model training, planning, controls, CI, and data systems.

· Optimize simulation throughput, determinism, resource use, and debugging workflows.

· Establish asset, configuration, seed, and version-management standards for reproducible experiments.

· Evaluate simulation engines and tools and make pragmatic technical choices.

· Mentor contributors and partner with deployment teams to convert field failures into regression scenarios.

Technical Requirements

Must Have

· Bachelor's or higher degree in robotics, computer science, mechanical engineering, or related field.

· At least 5 years of experience with at least one modern robotics simulator such as Isaac Sim/Lab, MuJoCo or equivalent.

· Strong Python and/or C++ skills.

· Solid understanding of rigid-body dynamics, contacts, sensors, kinematics, and control.

· Experience building reproducible simulation-based testing or training workflows.

· Ability to validate models against real hardware and reason quantitatively about fidelity.

· Experience integrating simulation with robotics middleware and engineering pipelines.

· Technical leadership and strong cross-functional communication.

Nice to Have

· Experience with reinforcement learning, imitation learning, or synthetic-data generation.

· Experience with GPU simulation, distributed workloads, or cloud simulation.

· Experience modeling dexterous hands, grippers, deformable objects, or contact-rich tasks.

· Experience building safety or regression test suites for deployed robots.

How to Apply

Please send your résumé/CV and a short note explaining your relevant experience to [Confidential Information]. Use the subject: Application — Robotics Simulation Engineer. Links to portfolios, publications, GitHub repositories, or representative projects are welcome where relevant.

Benefits and Compensation

We offer a competitive compensation package based on role scope, experience, interview performance, and work location, together with the benefits required by the employing entity. Final details will be discussed with shortlisted candidates.
