Job Description

The Robotics Integration Engineer is responsible for integrating industrial robotic systems with factory control, MES, and IT platforms. This role focuses on real-time coordination between robotic arms, PLC/SCADA systems, and manufacturing applications to enable automated material handling and assembly operations in a production environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and support software interfaces for robotic arms and gantry robots on the production floor

  • Integrate robotic systems with MES and factory control systems to trigger and report robot actions in real time

  • Enable software-driven robot commands such as pick, place, transfer, and assembly operations

  • Interface with PLC/SCADA systems controlling conveyors, shuttles, turntables, and auxiliary equipment

  • Implement middleware or IoT gateways to bridge PLC signals with factory IT systems

  • Ensure real-time synchronization between robot actions, PLC events, and MES updates

  • Troubleshoot and resolve robot, PLC, and integration issues in live production environments

  • Collaborate with automation, manufacturing, and IT teams to support system commissioning and operations

  • Maintain technical documentation for robot interfaces, integrations, and workflows

  • Ensure all integrations comply with safety standards and interlock requirements

Requirements / Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, IT, or related field

  • Minimum 3 years of experience integrating industrial robotics or automation systems

  • Strong understanding of factory automation and control systems

Must Have Skills

  • Experience integrating industrial robotic arms into automated production lines

  • Hands-on experience using robot vendor APIs or standards (OPC UA, ROS-I)

  • Solid understanding of PLC/SCADA systems and equipment signal integration

  • Strong programming skills in C# or Java for middleware and integration logic

Good to Have Skills

  • Experience with PLC programming or configuration

  • Knowledge of robot motion programming and fault handling

  • Understanding of robot safety standards, interlocks, and guard checks
