When you work in Freight Logistics and Operations at Kuehne+Nagel, you play a key role in optimising processes and ensuring that inventory and shipments move efficiently. But that is not all. Your work also helps ensure that vital medicines reach patients on time and supports other essential deliveries, from wind turbines to semiconductors. You will be part of our Road Logistics team, adding your expertise + skills to the delivery of Customer+ Operational excellence.

How you create impact

You will complete a variety of operational tasks as well as following up on customer + vendor payments,
including but not limited to the following.

  • To provide proper costing responses to generic rate enquiries, establishing a generic pricing table asrequired.
  • To execute all shipments smoothly, ensuring profiles are updated into relevant systems, + that door-to-doormonitoring of status is in place at every step including close coordination with endorsed carriers.
  • To establish + strengthen operational relations with customer contact(s) through daily interactions, regularcalls or visits + proactively advising + consulting to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • To document, resolve, analyze all complaints + then identify, share + eliminate root causes.
  • To ensure that shipments are profitable, highlighting with any loss-making shipments to the most seniormanager, obtaining prior approval before proceeding.
  • To ensure that all costs accrued are correct with all invoices reflecting the right pricing.
  • To liaise with customers directly, resolving feedback in a manner that provides explanations, puts thecustomer at ease + demonstrates that the right corrective actions are put in place to prevent a reoccurrence.

  • Candidates should have a solid understanding of road logistics operations, including shipment execution, costing, and coordination with carriers.
  • Strong communication and customerhandling skills are essential to manage daily interactions, resolve issues, and maintain positive relationships.
  • The role requires strong analytical ability to review shipment profitability, validate costs, and identify root causes of complaints.
  • Attention to detail, accuracy in documentation, and the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fastpaced environment are also critical for success.
