Job Summary

As the Retail Operations Manager, you will oversee daily operations across multiple retail outlets, driving sales performance, operational efficiency, and team development to deliver exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations across assigned retail outlets to ensure smooth and efficient store functioning
• Achieve sales targets by monitoring performance and implementing improvement strategies
• Lead, coach, and supervise retail staff to enhance team productivity and service quality
• Prepare staff rosters and plan manpower to meet operational needs effectively
• Recruit, train, and onboard new employees to build a capable and motivated workforce
• Maintain high customer service standards to ensure positive shopping experiences
• Monitor inventory levels and coordinate replenishment with suppliers to prevent stockouts
• Conduct regular stock counts and inventory audits to ensure accuracy and accountability
• Monitor product expiry dates and implement measures to minimize wastage
• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and workplace safety regulations to maintain store standards
• Coordinate with suppliers and manage purchase orders to support inventory needs
• Verify invoices and prepare payments for management approval to maintain financial accuracy
• Manage cash handling procedures and perform daily sales reconciliation to safeguard assets
• Investigate operational issues promptly and implement corrective actions to resolve problems
• Analyze sales reports to identify opportunities for improving profitability and operational efficiency
• Maintain high standards of cleanliness and merchandising to enhance store presentation
• Assist in implementing marketing campaigns and promotional activities to drive customer engagement
• Provide regular operational reports to management to support informed decision-making

Preferred competencies and qualifications

• Degree in Business, Retail Management, or related discipline or equivalent.
• Minimum 3 years experience in retail operations or supermarket/convenience store management
• Experience managing multiple outlets is an advantage
• Strong leadership and people management skills demonstrated through team development and supervision
• Excellent organizational and planning abilities applied to manpower and operational scheduling
• Good analytical and problem-solving skills used to address operational challenges
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office for reporting and data analysis
• Experience with POS systems and inventory management software to support store operations
• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and public holidays, to meet business demands
• Positive attitude and hands-on approach to managing retail operations
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced retail environment, adapting quickly to changing priorities
