Job Description

Job Summary

Responsible for leasing retail properties, sourcing tenants, analyzing market trends, and developing strategies for long-term sustainability.

Responsibilities

  • Source and secure suitable tenants that align with the desired tenant mix for client's group of retail malls and MCST properties to optimize occupancy and revenue
  • Analyze market trends and key insights to innovate marketing tools and leasing approaches that enhance retail space appeal and competitiveness
  • Conduct comprehensive market research on competitors and benchmark rental and occupancy costs to inform leasing strategies
  • Develop and implement marketing and leasing strategies that ensure long-term sustainability and growth of retail property portfolios
  • Build and maintain strong tenant relationships and cultivate a robust network with prospects and industry partners to support leasing objectives
  • Support Asset Enhancement Initiatives (AEI) by leasing new retail spaces and conducting feasibility studies for new developments or assigned projects
  • Manage key stakeholders and engage senior management to secure approvals for leasing concepts, revenue budgets, and provide timely updates on leasing performance
  • Lead lease renewal negotiations, prepare lease agreements and related documentation, ensuring timely execution within stipulated deadlines
  • Prepare management reports and annual budgets, including periodic review of rental rates across CDL's retail property portfolio to meet financial targets
  • Monitor rental and occupancy rates regularly to implement effective marketing and renewal strategies that achieve key performance indicators (KPIs)
  • Collaborate with the Credit Control team to manage tenant arrears, reducing company risk exposure through proactive tenant management

Preferred competencies and qualifications

  • Degree in Real Estate or equivalent
  • At least 8 years of retail leasing experience demonstrating resourcefulness, confidence, and energy
  • Proven interpersonal, negotiation, organizational, and leadership skills applied in retail leasing contexts
  • Established network and good contacts with retail players and agents
  • Ability to perform effectively under pressure
