About the Role
As a key member of our Product Team, you will have the opportunity to work closely with different teams across countries and regions. You will act as a Designer, a Pioneer and a Leader to providing strong support for Payermax's entry into Retail industry sectors
What You Will Do
Retail Platform Product Design & Launch
- Define and deliver end-to-end retail platform capabilities: product catalog management, inventory tracking, order life-cycle (placement → fulfillment → returns), and merchant/seller tooling
- Analyze retailer workflows, pain points, and integration needs across different retail verticals (FMCG, fashion, electronics, grocery); translate findings into prioritized product road-maps
- Author structured PRDs, flow diagrams, and API specs covering core retail flows: product listing, stock sync, order routing, logistics hand-off, returns, and reconciliation
- Coordinate with engineering, design, and merchant success teams through integration, QA, and go-live; define acceptance criteria and validate production behavior
Consumer Experience & Conversion Optimization
- Design and iterate on the consumer-facing shopping journey: discovery, search & filter, PDP (product detail page), cart, checkout, and post-purchase experience
- Identify friction points in conversion funnels using data; propose and validate product changes that improve add-to-cart rate, checkout completion, and repeat purchase
- Define personalization and recommendation strategies that match consumer intent with available inventory across markets
Omnichannel & Localization
- Drive omnichannel capabilities connecting online and offline retail touchpoints (click-and-collect, in-store digital, loyalty integration)
- Localize product experiences for SEA markets: payment method mix, language, regional promotions, local delivery expectations, and regulatory requirements
- Partner with local market teams in SG, MY, TH, ID, PH to ensure product-market fit across diverse retail contexts
Merchant & Seller Enablement
- Build and improve merchant-facing tools: onboarding flows, product upload & bulk management, pricing & promotion setup, order management dashboard, and performance analytics
- Reduce merchant integration friction by defining clean APIs and self-service capabilities; work with solution engineers on integration play books
- Monitor merchant health metrics (listing completeness, fulfillment rate, dispute rate) and design product interventions to improve platform quality
Data, Analytics & Efficiency
- Own core retail metrics: GMV, conversion rate, order success rate, fulfillment SLA, return rate, and merchant NPS
- Use data to identify growth opportunities and prioritize roadmap decisions; conduct structured A/B tests and synthesize findings into actionable product iterations
- Leverage AI tools in daily work for requirement drafting, market research synthesis, and data analysis acceleration
What We Expect
- 3+ years of product management experience, with hands-on delivery of retail, e-commerce, or marketplace platform features (not just strategy)
- Solid understanding of retail operations: how orders flow, how inventory is managed, how merchants run their businesses end to end
- Experience with at least one domain: consumer-facing UX (checkout/PDP/search), merchant tooling, or platform infrastructure (order management, catalog, fulfillment)
- Ability to independently write structured PRDs, user stories, and acceptance criteria—not just deck
- Data-driven decision-making: comfortable pulling and interpreting data, running experiments, and using metrics to prioritize
- Strong cross-functional collaboration: can drive alignment across engineering, design, operations, and business team
- English fluency for documentation, stakeholder communication, and regional collaboration
Nice To Have
- Experience at a regional e-commerce platform (Shopee, Lazada, Tokopedia, Grab, etc.) or a retail tech company serving SEA markets
- Hands-on work on checkout or payment integration within a retail context
- Experience building or scaling merchant on-boarding and self-service tools
- Knowledge of SEA retail consumer behavior, local payment methods (GrabPay, OVO, GCash, PromptPay, etc.), and logistics networks
- Familiarity with omnichannel retail concepts (unified inventory, BOPIS, clientelling)
- Exposure to retail data platforms, recommendation systems, or search ranking
- Active use of AI tools (Claude, GPT, Cursor, etc.) in daily product work
