Retail Director

A leading global real estate investment manager is seeking an experienced Retail Directorto join its asset management and leasing platform in Singapore. This role offers the opportunity to take ownership of a high-profile retail asset and play a key role in shaping and scaling the organisation's retail strategy within a lean, entrepreneurial team environment.

Key Responsibilities
Reporting into senior leadership, the successful candidate will be responsible for the overall performance of the retail asset(s), with a strong focus on leasing, operations, and value creation. Key responsibilities include:

• Act as the primary point of contact for the management of one or more retail assets in Singapore
• Lead strategic leasing initiatives and drive leasing outcomes through strong market relationships
• Oversee and provide direction to the Centre Management Office (CMO) and on-site teams
• Prepare, manage, and approve annual budgets, including P&L, capex, and marketing expenditures
• Establish internal retail expertise, processes, and standard operating procedures
• Contribute to the development and sharing of retail best practices across the broader platform
• Support retail tenancy mix strategies across other asset classes and geographies, where required
• Undertake additional responsibilities aligned with business needs and asset performance objectives

Requirements
The ideal candidate will bring a strong mix of leasing, operational, and leadership experience, including:

• Bachelor's degree from a recognised institution
• Minimum 8 years of experience in the retail real estate sector, with hands-on exposure to leasing and operations
• Proven ability to operate independently while thriving in a lean, collaborative team environment
• Strong work ethic and a proactive, ownership-driven mindset
• Passion for retail and a willingness to be hands-on (walking the ground)
• Analytical and commercially minded, with a desire to continuously learn and improve strategies
• Flexible and solutions-oriented, with the willingness to go beyond defined responsibilities to achieve results
