Job Description
- Identify customer preferences and forecast consumer trends.
- Evaluate supplier options according to prices, quality, image etc.
- Discover and purchase new products and check the quality and popularity of those already in the stores.
- Negotiate terms of agreements to achieve the best outcome for all parties.
- Monitor stock levels and make plans for buying within budget.
- Work closely with relevant internal and external parties on activities to build brand awareness and to drive sales for existing products.
- Maintain trust and relationships with Japanese suppliers to for better product assortment, costs and support for marketing programs.
- Attend events, fairs and exhibitions to remain up-to-date with the market trends.
Job requirements
- Diploma/Degree in Business/Retail Management or its equivalent.
- At least 2 years merchandising experience.
- Possess good communication and negotiation skills.
Working conditions & benefits
- Reports directly to Division Merchandising Manager
- Working Hours: Monday Friday 9.00 am - 6.00 pm (flexi work hours available)
