JOB DESCRIPTION
A retail assistant manager is the person who acts under the supervision of the general manager in order to ensure that a retail store will run smoothly and efficiently on a daily basis. Generally work in an indoor environment with retail associates.
Duties and responsibilities
Assist in overseeing the day-to-day retail operations and staff monitor and prioritize workflow and schedules.
Source, select and manage suppliers/vendors to ensure quality, pricing and delivery objectives are met
Liaising with suppliers on stocks and provide ongoing aggressive negotiation support for best prices, terms and lead time reduction from suppliers
Prepare & managing of purchase orders/invoicing/quotations
Actively seek possibilities to make savings and check for supplier alternatives to source the required products at a competitive price
Manage and stock inventory at specified levels.
Carry out stock take to ensure accuracy and prevent stock discrepancy
Manage a team and ensure smooth operation of the store
Monitor sales progress and achieve sales target
Carry out in-store sales and promotional plans
Manage retail associates roster and ensure adequate manpower for the peak period
Supervise the daily work performance of the employees and work closely
Assist with customer queries and resolve issues arise
Other ad-hoc duties may be assigned depending on operation's needs
