Job Description

The Retail Assistant ensures the smooth operations of the company's retail showroom and lounges on a daily basis.

This includes upholding the showroom's impeccable appearance, delivering exceptional customer service, and assisting the Retail Supervisor in a wide range of tasks to enhance the overall functioning of the retail space

- Position required:

  1. High school diploma or equivalent.
  2. Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in luxury retail or customer service is preferred.
  3. Strong customer service skills and a positive attitude.
  4. Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  5. Good organisational and time management skills.

- Skills and Competencies:

  1. Product Knowledge: Basic knowledge of fine wine products and fine wine tasting etiquette.
  2. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written, to effectively interact with customers and team members.
  3. Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing work environments and customer needs.
  4. Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure the showroom and lounges are always clean and well-maintained.

- Key Responsibilities:

Retail Showroom Maintenance:

  1. Cleanliness: It is crucial to ensure that the showroom and lounges are consistently clean, well-organised, and properly maintained to create a welcoming environment for our customers.
  2. Merchandising: It is essential to create visually appealing displays that attract and engage customers to assist with merchandising fine wine products.
  3. Inventory Management: Supporting inventory levels through restocking shelves and participating in stock counts is crucial for ensuring we always have the products available for our customers

Customer Service:

  1. Customer Assistance: This position is responsible for warmly greeting customers as they enter the store and providing them with knowledgeable assistance in selecting products. This will include offering fine wine recommendations and addressing any general inquiries they may have about our products or services. Customer Service: To go above and beyond to ensure that every customer feels valued and welcomed from the moment they step through the doors until the time they leave the store.
  2. Sales Support: To support the Retail Supervisor by actively contributing to closing sales and efficiently processing customer transactions at the point of purchase

Event Support:

  1. Event Preparation: Assist with the arrangement and organisation of in-store events, including tasks such as setting up displays, arranging products, and ensuring all necessary materials are readily available for fine wine tastings and product launches.
  2. Event Execution: To assist by serving fine wine to customers, addressing their inquiries about products, and ensuring smooth event operations by helping with logistics, such as managing the flow of attendees and replenishing supplies as needed

General Duties:

  1. Cashier Duties: Responsible for efficiently processing payments and handling transactions to ensure a seamless checkout experience for customers. Administrative Tasks: To diligently complete various assignments, including data entry and filing, to support the overall organisation and efficiency of the retail operation.
  2. Teamwork: Collaborate closely with other team members to coordinate activities and uphold a cohesive environment in the retail showroom and lounges, ultimately contributing to an exceptional customer experience
