Oversee all night-shift construction activities related to underground utilities (SPPG, Telecom, Water, Sewer).
Ensure work is carried out safely, efficiently, and according to approved drawings and specifications.
Monitor night excavation, pipe laying, duct installation, and road reinstatement.
Check and verify pipe alignment, levels, gradient, and bedding during night operations.
Conduct inspections for jointing, duct installation, backfilling, and compaction.
Ensure all works comply with quality standards and authorities Codes of Practice.
Ensure strict compliance with WSH regulations, PTW, and safe work procedures during night works.
Monitor high-risk activities such as deep excavation, confined space, lifting, and heavy machinery movement.
Ensure adequate lighting, traffic safety, and safe access routes during night shift.
Prepare night shift daily reports, inspection records, manpower & machinery logs.
Document any issues, delays, NCRs, or safety incidents occurring during night activities.
Provide detailed handover reports to the day-shift RTO/Engineer for continuity of work.
Coordinate with night-shift supervisors, foremen, subcontractors, traffic marshals, and utility contractors.
Liaise with Resident Engineer (RE), Project Engineer, and authority representatives when required.
Attend night-site inspections with consultants or authorities (SPPG, PUB, LTA, IMDA).
Identify and report technical issues such as underground utility clashes, soft ground, or alignment conflicts.
Provide immediate support to resolve on-site challenges to avoid delays and rework.
Ensure existing utilities are protected during night excavation.
Ensure all night works comply with relevant authority requirements:
SPPG - Power Cables / Ducts
PUB - Water & Sewer
IMDA - Telecom Ducts
LTA - Road Opening & Reinstatement
Verify proper barricading, signage, and traffic management during night operations.
