Conduct thorough inspections of all delivered M&E materials and equipment to verify compliance with approved submittals and project specifications.
Provide proactive standing supervision of M&E installation works as directed by the Resident Engineer and client representatives.
Identify and resolve M&E-related issues promptly, proposing effective solutions and implementing corrective actions to ensure project compliance and avoid delays.
Actively participate in daily progress meetings and client/contractor site walks, providing expert M&E input and reporting on status.
Review and approve Method Statements, Testing & Commissioning (T&C) plans, and procedures for all M&E systems.
Witness and validate M&E site acceptance tests, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and commissioning activities to ensure adherence to design and performance criteria.
Supervise and witness the testing and commissioning of Addressable Fire Alarm Systems to ensure full functionality and integration.
Oversee the performance testing of Mechanical Ventilation Systems (including AHUs, FCUs), evaluating outcomes against design criteria and conducting combined service tests under fire mode activation.
Maintain meticulous and accurate records of all M&E works, including inspection reports, test certificates, commissioning data, and as-built documentation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
Minimum of 5 years of direct experience in M&E supervision and commissioning within the construction industry, preferably on commercial office fit-out or building services projects.
In-depth knowledge of local Building Regulations and Codes of Practice (e.g., Singapore SS, CP, or other relevant local standards).
Specific Technical Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with the installation, testing, and commissioning of: Chilled Water Systems, including Fan Coil Units (FCUs) and Air Handling Units (AHUs). Electrical Systems, including HV/LV Switchgear, VFDs, and MCCs. Fire Alarm and Life Safety Systems.
Strong problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to identifying and mitigating issues on site.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective coordination with clients, consultants, and contractors.
