Resident Architect
Job Description
Responsibilities
- Assist the Qualified Person (Architect) [QP(Arch)] in supervising architectural works to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, statutory requirements, and quality standards
- Conduct regular site inspections to monitor construction progress, workmanship, and material quality.
- Coordinate with Resident Engineers (REs), Resident Technical Officers (RTOs), consultants, contractors, and other stakeholders to resolve site and design-related issues.
- Monitor the integration of architectural works with structural and M&E systems and attend site coordination meetings.
- Review and recommend approval of shop drawings, material submissions, samples, and mock-ups to ensure compliance with the design intent.
- Inspect architectural finishes and completed works, identify non-compliances or defects, and recommend corrective actions.Maintain site records, inspection reports, photographic documentation, and progress updates for the QP(Arch) and project team.
- Assist in the preparation and verification of architectural as-built drawings.
- Ensure compliance with the Building Control Act, Singapore Building Codes, BCA regulations, and the requirements of relevant authorities (e.g., URA, NEA, and SCDF).
- Support the QP(Arch) in statutory inspections, documentation, and authority submissions.
- Promote safe work practices and ensure architectural works comply with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) requirements.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Architecture from a recognised institution.
- Registered Architect with the Board of Architects (BOA), Singapore, or possess equivalent qualifications recognised by the relevant authorities.
- Minimum 5 years of relevant site supervision experience, preferably in the construction administration of building or infrastructure projects in Singapore.
- Good knowledge of Singapore building regulations, codes, and statutory submission procedures (e.g., BCA, URA, and SCDF).
- Strong understanding of construction methods, building materials, architectural detailing, and building systems.
- Ability to interpret architectural drawings, specifications, and technical documents accurately.
- Good communication, coordination, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with consultants, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Word, and Microsoft Excel.
