Role Description
We are looking for a hands-on Microfluidics Research Scientist/Engineerbased in Singapore. The individual will support the design, development, and optimization of microfluidic systems for precision particle sorting applications. This role is ideal for someone with strong technical experience in microfluidics, experimentation, and prototyping, and who enjoys working in a fast-paced, collaborative R&D environment.
Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and test microfluidic devices and prototypes
- Optimize microfluidic processes for sample handling and detection
- Design and execute experiments; collect, analyze, and interpret data
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and development updates
- Support procurement and laboratory safety documentation
- Work with cross-functional teams on system development and integration
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree with at least 3 years of relevant work experience; or a Master's/Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related field.
- Strong background in microfluidic system design, soft lithography, and microfabrication techniques
- Experience in experimental design, data analysis, and technical problem-solving
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative and proactive working style
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with microfluidic operations and systems
- Experience with rapid prototyping tools such as 3D printers and laser cutters
- Experience handling chemical and/or biological samples
- Experience in system integration and coding in python/C++ is a plus
