Job Description
AI Singapore (AISG) is a national programme launched by the National Research Foundation (NRF), Singapore, to catalyse, synergise and boost Singapore's artificial intelligence (AI) capabilities to power our future digital economy. AISG will bring together all Singapore-based research institutions and the vibrant ecosystem of AI start-ups and companies developing AI products, to perform use-inspired research, grow the knowledge, create the tools, and develop the talent to power Singapore's AI efforts.
AISG is driven by a government-wide partnership comprising NRF, Smart Nation Group (SNG), Infocomm Media Development Authority (IMDA), Economic Development Board (EDB), Enterprise Singapore (EnterpriseSG), amongst others.
This role reports to the Director of Research and supports AI Singapore's Research Pillar across outreach, daily operations, and project management.
This role will coordinate and deliver research projects, while creating and communicating content that showcases AISG Research's work and academic research pathways to audiences ranging from students, professors to industry researchers.
As a hybrid role combining creative communication and project management, its goal is to strengthen the visibility of AI Singapore's initiatives locally and globally.
Duties And Responsibilities
The Research Outreach Assistant Manager / Manager is required to perform the following:
Outreach
- Content Creation: Work with the AISG Research team to conceptualise, then independently film and edit content on research that appeals to the general public or researchers.
- Curate Online Presence: Manage AISG Research's digital presence and work to expand the reach and engagement of our research content among researchers, students, and the public.
- Social Monitoring: Monitor the social media presence of researchers in Singapore and how they engage their audiences.
Operations
- Project Planning: Plan and communicate comprehensive AI Research programme plans, timelines, and activities to both internal and external stakeholders.
- Event Support and Execution: Help organise outreach events to ensure AISG's research is well-represented. This includes event logistics, coordination, and actual-day support.
- Administrative Support: Assist with the daily operational needs of the Research pillar, including record-keeping and project documentation to ensure audit-readiness.
Qualifications
Requirements
- Possess a good command of spoken and written English.
- Mandatory: Please include your portfolio or social media links in your Resume, demonstrating an ability to independently create engaging/trending content or grow high-influence digital communities.
- At least 2 years of experience in Social Media Management, Community Building, or high-level Project Management in a tech-centric environment.
Core Skills
- Proficiency in video editing and design tools (e.g. CapCut, Premiere Pro, Canva, Adobe, etc.), and a good understanding of platform algorithms such as X, LinkedIn and YouTube.
- Strong project management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage content creation alongside operational responsibilities.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and build rapport with colleagues and stakeholders.
- Independent, resourceful and proactive, with good judgement in resolving issues and escalating to the Director when needed.
Good to Have
- Experience and understanding of the Singapore research ecosystem in autonomous universities/research labs,
- Ability to understand technical AI terminology, AI concepts and translate technical content into plain English that can engage the broader general audience.
