We are seeking a Research Fellow to join our research team to work with PIs and co-PIs in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering and the Department of Industrial Systems Engineering and Management. This position's primary focus is to develop real-time truck-drone collaboration system to enhance Singapore safety and resilience and using learning-based approaches.
Key Responsibilities Include
- Collecting and analyzing relevant data.
- Designing mathematical models.
- Developing simulation program.
- Designing optimization or learning-based algorithms.
- Working on research projects, supervising research students, and preparing research proposals and reports.
Job Requirements
- Possess a PhD degree obtained in a related discipline (transportation engineering, operations research, computer engineering/science, or related disciplines)
- Has strong interest and expertise in mathematical modeling, simulation, and optimization or learning-based methods.
- Proficiency in simulation software.
- Programming expertise in at least one language, e.g., Python, Java, or C++
- Strong written and oral communication skills and able to present results clearly.
- Open to fixed-term contract
