Job Description
This project aims to characterize and model the response of rock mass and rock rubbles under hypervelocity loading conditions.
The candidate is expected to
- Develop a test matrix for conducting hypervelocity impact loading tests in a partner laboratory and to coordinate the logistics
- Experimental characterization of material response
- Modelling of rock mass and rock rubbles under hypervelocity impact loading
- Perform numerical parametric studies and develop design guidelines
Job Requirements
- Possess a PhD degree in relevant field, with demonstrated experience in the following such as:
- Experimental ballistics tests on rock / cementitious materials
- Modelling of high-rate impact on rock / cementitious materials using established constitutive models (e.g. K&C, RHT).
- Meso-scale modelling of multi-phases cementitious materials (e.g. aggregates, mortar, interfaces).
- Strong written and spoken communication skills.
- Open to fixed-term contract.
