School of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering and Biotechnology is a new interdisciplinary school at NTU, inaugurated in August 2022 by integrating the Division of Chemistry and Biological Chemistry from the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences with the School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. It is jointly run by the College of Science and the College of Engineering. The school hosts world-class education and research programmes in organic and inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, chemical engineering, and bioengineering. The key objective is to nurture future-ready graduates and research staffs with the ability to tackle new challenges in chemicals manufacturing, healthcare, energy, food, and other important sectors.
We are looking for a Research Fellow to develop rapid detection methods for bacterial infection. The role will focus on developing probes for the labeling of pathogenic bacteria in diagnostic platforms based on fluorescence, colorimetric, and Raman scattering signals and optimize the assay on detection platforms such as microarray, lateral flow assay, ELISA, and microfluidics. This is in line with NTU's mission and objective to become a global hub on science and technology through research in diverse disciplines.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsible for the platform design for bacterial infection and antimicrobial susceptibility testing
Responsible for biosensing via fluorescence, colorimetric, and surface enhanced Raman Scattering in microarray, lateral flow assay, and microfluidics.
