Job Description

The successful candidate will work with Prof Bao Weizhu in optimisation algorithms, including saddle-point search methods on manifolds, symmetry-preserving crystal optimisation and spin-constrained DFT.

The main responsibilities of the position include:
(i) To perform excellent research with Prof Bao Weizhu and his team of students and research fellows, leading to publications in top venues on numerical optimisation
(ii) To teach one class in the Mathematics department per semester.

Qualifications / Discipline:
. Ph.D. in Mathematics

Skills:
. Mathematics with a focus on Computational Mathematics and numerical optimisation

Experience:
. 2 years of doing research on number optimization
